There shouldn't be any driver software on a CD for this player. If you need the Digital Music Store, go here:
http://rhapsody-usa.com/best-buy/

If your computer is still able to recognize the player, you can still manually place music files on the player by switching the player to File&Folder mode.

Same problem here. I put videos on it and wont recognize them. The few that do get recognized wont play because the player says that it cant read the file or it is not playable.

Insignia ArcSoft media conversion software

Hey Danwwill,

If you've lost the program installation CD, you should be able to find the files available for download through Insignia's support website for this model:

http://www.insignia-products.com/p-225-insignia-2gb-mp3-player-black.aspx

This page should have links for the necessary hardware drivers and Rhapsody Music Player as well.

Alternatively, you may be able to obtain a physical replacement disc by contacting Insignia directly at their toll-free hotline: 877-467-4289.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Insignia Pilot doesn't always recognize music files

Okay...here we go!

1) Back up all your files on the player.
2) Re-format the player in windows as either FAT16 or FAT32 (no this will not remove the OS firmware).
3) Place your files back onto the player.

The volatile memory on these units can become corrupted if your USB connection is underpowered, split too many times, or has a few devices also drawing power.

This should fix your problem.

Good luck!
