Picture noise / distortion

1. Disc is dirty or damaged. Clean the disc or try another disc.
   

2. Reset the color system of the player or the TV set.
   

3. Try a direct connection from the DVD player to the TV set, instead of via other components.
   

   Test the wires connector terminal from dirty and corrosion, clean it with contacts cleaner very well and try again.Use the Disk cleaner for clean the Pickup system

Looks like there are some partial defects in the TV and might need attention of a qualified service technician. Anyhow, make sure that the input cable, RC jacks and sockets all do not have any loose contacts. Go through settings and ensure that every set up is as it should be.

These sets have several common problems which are listed below.

If you haven't already stumbled across the fix: I just had the exact same problem after about eights months of casual use. Unplugging the DVD player for about 15 minutes and then plugging it back in "solved" the problem. Until next time it happens, anyway.

I would try hooking something else up to your tv that is hdmi compatible. If your tv looks fine, then you know it would be the dvd player. If it's the dvd player, then I would suggest getting a different brand completely. I have had alot of bad experiences myself and other people as well when it comes to the philips brand

the picture color problem is the coolant in the CRTs. You can get the coolant replacemnt Kit at the following link. The other problem with the Input through DVD sounds like the signal board. You can get the replacement board and the Phillips CRT coolant kit at the following link.

If the player has other outputs try connecting the player to the tv using one of them, ie: use the A/V output instead of HDMI from the player. If the problem goes away there is something wrong with the input on the tv.

what brand is your TV and your DVD? Most TVs have a Audio In(put) and Video In(put) connection at the rear. Similarly, most DVD players have a Video OUT and Audio (L) and Audio (R) outputs at the rear. Now all you need to do take the supplied cable - or if you do not have one, buy a cable from radio shack - should not cost you more than 5$ - and connect the Video Out of the DVD player to the Video IN of the TV and Audio Out of the DVD to the Audio Input of the TV. On the TV, using the remote, select Video Input using the TV/AV button. Play your DVD machine, and enjoy your movies.
