Fax receiving problems

Hi, i have i brother MFC-3220C and i don´t get my faxes. Every time i´m receiving a fax, there is a text on the display: "Please open cover"
Can you help me, what to do?

    The printer has an error of some sort. The only way to truly know is to get into maintenance mode. The bad thing about that is you can mess the machine up worse if you are not careful and put in the wrong codes. Would you like to try it?
