These are the steps that you need to take, and the instructions on how to do it:
1. Reboot into Safemode
2. Run a virus and spyware scanner
3. Defrag
4. Scandisk
5. Registry error repairing
6.Reboot into regular mode windows

Here is how to do it:
Reboot yor machine while holding the F8 key right as it boots back up. A menu will apear. Choose -->"start windows in safe mode with networking".
Windows will start in safe mode. Run an AVG virus scan, then run Defrag by exploring your computer, right click on C: drive, click PROPERTIES, then the TOOLS tab, click the "check now" button, and only checkmark the top box 'fix file system errors', then click ok, the computer will then tell you it will scan upon next reboot., Now click the DEFRAG NOW button. the choose defrag. After Defrag runs for about an hour and it is finished, restart the system. If is still won't run normally, go back into Safemode buy pressing F8 on reboot, then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue registrybooster, then reboot again. If it still won't run right, you may want to reinstall Windows and see if that works. If reinstalling windows doesn't fix it, it is most likely a hardware problem.
PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND KEEP A COPY NEAR YOUR SYSTEM FOR FUTURE PROBLEMS. THIS SERIES OF STEPS CAN FIX MANY PROBLEMS
Good luck.
James.

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10. I was able to use Skype without any problem, but recently I can only skype for a certain length of time, approximately 20 - 50 minutes, before the whole computer freezes....

You have explained a problem that seems to be due to heat. An interesting fact is that when you remove it from it's cover you get a bit more time out of it. That confirms the heat theory.

Use it right from the beginning on the desk, the cover prevents proper airflow through the chassis. Even lift it slightly with an pencil or the like. Lift the rear.

Your laptop computer may need to be cleaned of dust/service.

Some-how you need it to run cooler.

Take Care!

Dont know what to go to to use the web cam

Can you elaborate on your question? Like what computer are you using and what application you want to use your cam with?........there are an example you can try it.
use web cam for DELL laptop-
Many IM clients allow Webcam support, such as AIM, Y! IM, Windows Live Messenger, and Skype. However, I'd recommend either AIM or Skype since Windows Live and Y! IM are pretty bad (slowed down my Dell; freezes/crashes on start). Plus, you can also use Skype as a phone on your computer. The only downside is that you have to pay a subscription for voicemail ($10/mo.) and it isn't available in all areas.

However, the choice is yours. Make sure you have all your drivers installed (if you can't get the built-in webcam to work, look for a driver on the internet) and test it. It can get really laggy on slow connections and it eats up bandwidth, so watch it. I hope that helps.

Good luck!

I have Pro 9000. When used on Skype, whenever I turn on the webcam, my computer crashes, the whole screen freezes up. Please hlep. Thanks.

If it only happens with Skype, try downloading and reinstalling the lastest Skype version. Also check the AV and firewall settings to make sure Skype has the right exception authorization.

Here's more info on webcam problems.
