Have you check for obstructions on the brush, especially towards both ends of the brush? Check for things like string, tinsel, etc. that can stop the brush from rotating. Check to see if you can turn the brush using your hand but don't force it if it is jammed. If its free of debris and turns with your hand then you have a more severe problem. I don't believe this unit has a belt but hopefully my prior tips will help. Good luck!
if the motor shaft that rotates the belt to turn the brush does`nt turn you have motor problem`s if it does you need to free up what ever is keeping the brush froom turning freely
if the belt is more then 6 months old or more, then the belt will have to be replaced reguardless of the way it lookes. belts can stretch over time and when you put the machine on the carpet the friction causes the brush to stop because the belt has stretched. i would try this first. hope this helps
The reason for the brushes to stop when it is above any surface is there is a switch in the handle that stops the brushes so it dont burn your motor up it may have a faulty switch.
The front brush motor will not engage until the power is turned on and the handle is in the down position. In the upright position the brush motor wont engage. Typical faults will be the belt is broken and needs replacing or the fornt brush motor needs replacing.
The brushes will only work if the handle is released and the ProHeat vacuum is running . There is a micro switch inside the lower handle that switches on the DC carpet brush motor. The DC power for the motor comes from a Bridge Rectifier on the PC Board. [email protected]
