Kodak Printhead Question

Can anyone give me contact information for Kodak Customer Service?
I think I need a new printhead, but cannot find anyone who can help.

    I think I need a new printhead. It won't print black. Almost brand new. Was working fine and just stopped printing the black. Bought new ink cartridges, emailed Kodak and got 2 separate sets of troubleshooting instructions (neither of which worked), cleaned printhead, reset everything to factory specs, nothing works. The online store doesn't show printheads. Is there a toll free number?

    Same as others, replaced both black and color cartidges, print is smudged,prints colors but no fonts/text and message from printer reads, "replace printhead". Are they available yet? Printer is fairly new and gently used. warranty has expired, what do I do?

    Well smartboy 560 from Kodak. If you are really smart, you will suggest to Kodak that they make the printheads available. I have had my 5300 for about 6 months, it was printing beautiful pictures up until a few days ago. I have done everything that the troubleshooting guide tells you to, and they are still coming out with a purple cast. Kodak has a major problem with these printers, and from all the complaints I have been reading from others, it sounds like sooner or later, these printers will all need a new printhead. It doesn't sound like Kodak wants to admit they have a problem. At least you did give a number to call, hopefully that will get me some results. Otherwise, I wasted a lot of money when I bought this printer.

    Got my kodak 5300 printer 8/11/08*

    I bought this machine as a remanufactured item, with all the bells, whistles and one year kodak warranty.

    Print head and software (mac would not recognize printer).

    Problems after printing the 2 test pages.

    1. I called kodak at 1800-421-6699.

    2. I e-mailed the seller to find out what the return policy is just in case the new print head did not solve the problems.

    Kodak said they would fedex a new print head. That I should receive it in 3 days. I would also receive a prepaid envelop to mail back the defective one.

    They e-mailed me a case number on the same date.

    I checked my e-mail before I got off the phone, yes it was there with the information as stated on the phone, though they spelled my name wrong, I was able to make corrections before hanging up.

    PS Call kodak 1800-421-6699, if the can not send you a new print head, you may be able to find one online.

    11 months old 5300 aio, Quit printing black, tried 3 new ink carts, no help still won;t print black need phone number for Kodak warranty supprt.

    The black ink seems to print with streaks. I've tried to clean it with a cleaning solution you get with ink kits from Staples but no change.

    Call the 800 - and Tech Rep verified print head failure and sent replacement free of charge ALSO sent color and BW cartridges !

    Called Kodak 800 #, new printhead, ink, and photo paper was shipped and arrived at my front door with next day's mail. WOW and this was free, so just call them, they will make it RIGHT,

    I am having the same problem as many of you, except all my photos have a blue tint that covers the whole picture. They are sending me a new print head as well. Customer service was okay- she hung up while I was still talking. (I have had the printer since last X-mas.)

    I have the same problem with the blacks but I chat with the tech supp guy at kodak and after a few checks, clean printhead and reseating the ink cartridge he told me that a new printhead would be sent out within 5 days, thats one of the best tech supp I experience, recomended

I left my printer unused for a few weeks and the first time I tried to print the black did not print. So I bought new cartridges. I followed the troubleshooting, cleaning calibration in the manual. I even tried soaking the print head in alcohol. What is worse the printer keeps track of the number of prints to measure ink capacity instead of actual ink. The new cartridges I just bought are now reported empty an unusable even though I never printed anything. Next time try printing something once a week to keep the cartridges flowing regularly.

Just call the Kodak support help line. They found my online e-mail request and had my address already on record. They promised to send me a complete set of new print head and black and color cartridges within three days. That is exactly what I hoped for. I am looking forward to receiving the package in the mail. My faith is restored (tentatively). Good luck.

I dialed 1800-421-6699 like smartboy560 said and selected option 4 for 5000 series all-in-one printers. The technician was very helpful and kodak is sending me a new print head AND both ink cartridges free of charge. This is actually some of the best customer service that i have dealt with (or maybe i just got their employee of the month) either way my problem was fixed!

Bad printheads, 5300 & ESP7

Have your tired to update the firmware of the printer at make sure if you update the printer it must connected to your computer and it must turn On.,

If you will clean the printhead make sure its always deep clean and also you need to calibrate it also. I know you already familiar how to do it since you already contacted the Customer support.

You can always call Customer support., And if you experienced same problem using a printhead just less than a month and you updated the firmware it means the printer itself is the defective.

My Kodak 5500 all in one prints blurry pics. I

Clean the printhead, then print a demo sheet.
  1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
  2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
  3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Printhead Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
  4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo and Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet.
Is the Demo printout giving the same result?

If so, you may need to replace the printhead. This is a very common problem with this model.
You have to contact Kodak to be sent a new printhead to fix the problem. You click through the support on Kodak and then they automatically send out a new print head. To get the link to this on-line support chat with the live tech support and they can direct you where to go to find this solution. I dont remember the web link they directed me to but once there I answered a bunch of questions and got a new printhead in the mail pretty quick (no cost to me) and as of yet its been fixed.

My Kodak 5100 Easyshare printer will not scan or copy

Call the Kodak customer service number and tell them that you need a new printhead, that's the device that your cartridges fit into.  They know that they have a problem but they will ask you to print a test sheet anyway.  They should ship you a new printhead within about five days - at no cost.  The printhead only seems to last about 4-6 months with my occasional use.  Tell them that they should replace the ink cartridges since you used probably used up the ones in the printer trying to do the diagnostics of cleaning the printhead.  They may not replace the cartridges but we should give them a hard time since it's their problem.

Kodak ESP-3 Will not print calibration page. It goes thru the motions, spits out blank paper. This is supposed to happen prior to connecting to computer or installing software. Tried two printheads

I have severe and often different problems with my Kodak ESP-3 printer. Sometime it`s banding of the colors, then I`ll align the printhead and I`ll have a color problem or no color at all. I just talked to Kodak Customer Service by phone, 11 a.m. PST. After a few automated questions I had a live operator in less than 3 minutes. The service tech went thru some diagnostic steps with me and the printer and after about the 5th step determined I had a faulty printer head. If the green on/off light keeps blinking when it shouldn`t be, that is a sure sigh of faulty printer head, it means the printer is not recognizing the head. Kodak seems to be very aware of this problem and are sending me a new printer head UPS, free of charge. After reading some previous reviews I`m suprised how good the customer service was. Maybe I just called at the right time and got lucky.

Kodak Printhead Question

They don't sell these in retail stores (according to Kodak Cust. Service). I had an issue where I was not able to print out black ink. Color worked, but no black. So I called 18004216699. I then Had to patiently go through all the basic trouble shooting stuff like calibration, print head clean, demo print (push the copy button and photo button at the same time), etc. Once I went through that with them and still had the same issue, they proceeded to issue me a new print head for free, no shipping charges or anything. Just did this today, but they say I should have the print head in 3 days.

For once, service worked like it should! And to boot, they are sending new black and color ink cartriages! Good job Kodak!

Kodak 5300 Printhead problems

Return the printer to the store. I had to do it myself 3 times. First I got a 5100 with the printhead error, got a replacement the day after the scanner was producing distorted  image. Upgraded to a 5300, the scanner wouldn't work at all.  To avoid problems get yourself a Canon or Epson.

Not recognizing new ink cartridge

We had the same problem from the 1st day! Finally I took out the cartridges, rapped them smartly a time or two, said four letter words at them and replaced them. They now show up as full and the blinky red lights went away. Don't know how long this will last...
