Sony DAV-BC150 HT displays "C 31 00" after stuck DVD was removed

There was a DVD stuck in our Sony DAV-BC150 Home theatre system. I opened the box and removed it and closed up the box with no problem. But when I plugged the system back in it does the following: while displaying "please wait" for a few second, it pushes the tray out a little bit, then fully and then gives it a jolt, and finally displays "C 31 00". Can this be fixed?

Sounds like your TV's sound output isn't working. Check all the connections and if that doesn't do it, try hooking up some other sound system to the TV to check that it is working properly.

you can try gently to get the disc,s towards the front of the player by turning it upside down ,then you can also try pluging it in and trying to gently pry the door open with the assist of the open button , if that does not work within a reasonalble amount of time you cac also take the casing off and reve the dvd,s that way ,just lay out the parts in order so you remember where they came from , hope i was able to help you , it happened to me already and once i had no choice but to take it appart and another time i was able to get them back into the vicinity of the inside tray and was able to open it that way , either way you choosae good luck and thank you for letting me hopefully help you Sincerely Glenn mayer

SOURCE: DAV-HDX265 dvd tray doesnt open

well, if you hearing clicks is possible that you will only be able to fix by opening and looking if the door has been misplaced..... is possible that a cd is stuck and you need to open to fix.....
...
...
another way to fix is to press and hold Eject and Stop ON THE UNIT! while turning the nub to the right (volume up)
that will open the the service unlocking the system!!!!! THAT WILL ONLY WORK if the door or a cd is NOT stuck on it

See if you are having a color system issue. PAL TV with NTSC DVD player or the other way round.

Dvd stuck in unit

Look at the door of the player. There should be a small hole on the door. stick the end of a paper clip into the hole and that should release the door. Kind of how you would open a locked bedroom door lock.
