Description---- Problems with video cards show up as intermittent system lockups when playing 3D games, small dots of color spattered across the Window desktop, the inability to run certain 3D games, and the inability to open Windows normally. All of these issues can occur because of video hardware or driver problems. Find an item below that matches your video need: For integrated video memory that is adjustable, use the following steps to change the amount of video memory (RAM) from the PC BIOS Setup:

  1. Turn on the PC.
  2. When the blue HP screen appears, press the F1 key. Entering Setup should appear on the screen.
  3. When BIOS Setup screen appears, use the RIGHT ARROW key to select the Advanced screen.
  4. Use the down Arrow key to select the video memory setting; for example; VGA RAM Size, integrated video, or On-Board Video Memory.
  5. Press the Enter key.
  6. Use the down Arrow key to select the desired amount of memory or memory setting that is listed and then press the Enter key. CAUTION: Do not select a DISABLED setting without a video card installed! Doing so can cause the monitor to go black until a video card is added or the BIOS is reset.
  7. Press the F10 key, and then press Enter to save changes and exit. The PC is set to use the new video memory setting.

Compaq Monitor WF 1907 immediately after the Desktop /Monitor (set at VGA) is turned-on gets stuck at the COMPAQ sign in the center and F10=SetUP, EXC=Boot Boot Menuplus F11=System Recovery all displayed...

Try using your windows cd to boot up the computer and if that does not work then you may need to reset the bios. Inside the case if it is desktop there is a way to reset the the bios. There is a jumper that needs to be switch then switched back that will reset the bios. If this does not work may need to get a new hard drive. The MBR ( Master Boot Record) may have been corrupted.

My computer game

The problem is that the video system isa Geforce 6150. While this is more than adequate for day to day business graphics, looking at pictures, etc... It cannot do the types of rendering that are required by modern games or even the Aero interface in Windows Vista very well. Since it has a PCI express slot you could upgrade the video card for well under $100 to something like a Radeon 4850 or Geforce 9500 or higher that would perform well.
