I have a SONY Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655 LCD/Rear Projection Tv, and for the last 4 years or so, its been picture perfect.
Today while watching a movie, simultaneously the video/audio went out (as in the tv is not outputing any signal) and I heard a 'pop' sort of like when a power supply goes out on computer.
When it went out, the Power light kept blinking GREEN for what seems forever (I stoppped counting after 50).
The fan keeps running.
After I power it off and then back on, I again get no video/sound, the power light keeps blinking green forever, the fan runs, and then I hear a brief intermittent fizzling sound, as if something was trying to power up.
I figure I have to call service (local shop or what not). Just want to put this out there.

Please check lamp in tv as pop sound seems broken lamp.
Did you replaced lamp in last 2-3 years in tv? If not, then its lamp that got broken and tv needs new lamp.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual and its easy, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.
