Dear Bill,
Have someone with an electric meter test the plug in the back and see if the circuit breaker is blown.
If you have "juice" to the plug, then check inside the back of the oven and see if that "juice" is getting to the terminal where the wire is connected.
If it is, you should have a bad switch (control) on the stove or a wire that has burned in two, or has become disconnected.
Since this is really dangerous stuff, either have an expert check it, or have one show you how to do so.
God bless your efforts.
Hi If you have Simpson Neptune 3U 602 then it may be to do with the timer function. This also happened with my oven.
There is a red section on the face of the clock. The oven seems to work if it shows the hand icon. I'm not sure what it symbolises yet, as it's a new oven for me, but it is now working. You can change the icons by turning the left nob left and right. Hope this helps.
Most units heat comes on first. Does it get hot at all? may have over temp switch open and needs reset, after that check for fan operation. If fan does not come on it may lock out again. That would confirm bad blower motor.
Not sure if this unit needs this blower? Some space heaters it is an option.
i just moved and our stove in the new place doesnt bake things right. it seems that the top coil doesnt come on. its very difficult to bake anything. seems to come up to temp for pre heating, but only the bottom coil comes on. If you put it on broil, then the top coil gets hot. that works fine. tired of burning pizzas and biscuits. can anyone help with a cheap fix? dont have alot of cash.
Me too. Oven was on, big "pop" and breaker went. After re-setting the breaker (and setting the clock on the range), the stove top works fine, and the controller for the oven seems fine, just that neither the top or bottm elements will heat up in the oven. 240 V is getting to the control module, but it is not sending out any juice to the oven elements.
Any fixes out there?
i would replace the igniter and go ahead and replace the gas safty valve eather the ignitor is not allowing enought amps to open the gas valve enough to light or the valve is opening to slowly eather way i would go ahead and replace both this could be very dangerious is not repaired.
two things---when you open the oven door do you see a button on the right or left side?if so thats a door switch and if its bad you will get no voltage to the element.the next thing is your hi limit is bad.this is a sensor that monitors the temp of the oven and if its bad you wont get any heat.some hi limits reset themselves others you have to manually reset them.let me know.
