First, you need to know your IMAP incoming and outgoing mail servers. These servers can be provided by your email service provider. Once you have these info, you may follow the steps below:
1.Go to 'Settings' on the main menu on your iPhone. 2. Click on Mail, Contacts, Calendar... 3. Select Add Account and tap 'Other' 4. Add mail account and then fill out the lines with your name, e-mail address and password then tap 'Save'. 5. Select IMAP and then use the information below:
* Incoming Mail Server * - Host Name: type the IMAP incoming server - User Name: type your complete email address - Password: your e-mail password
* Outgoing Mail Server * - Host Name: type the IMAP outgoing server - User Name: type your complete email address - Password: your e-mail password
you will need to check the WAP and Email setup settings with your service providers, you can also go the the Email setup wizard and enter the following settings.
Yahoo Mail offers standard POP3 access for receiving emails incoming through
your Yahoo mailbox, by using your favorite email client software. To setup your
email client for working with your Yahoo account, you need to select the POP3
protocol and use the following mail server settings:
Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port
465)
Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port
995)
How do you access your Yahoo mail? Is it via the browser (www.yahoo.com) or via MS Outlook?
If you're having a problem of sending/receiving emails while using the web browser, you may want to delete old and unnecessary emails. You could have reached the storage limit of your email account.
But if your using an Outlook, you need to double-check the account settings. Make sure that you have the correct user name, password, incoming and outgoing servers, incoming and outgoing ports.
If you setup your email account using the POP protocol, you may use these server ports:
Incoming: 110 or 995 Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)
For IMAP:
Incoming: 143 or 993
Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)
If the same problem occur, you may try to delete your account and recreate it. Please bear in mind that if you deleted your account and recreated it, some emails may no longer appear or get downloaded.
