Xp Sound device drivers for toshiba satellite U405-S2856 needed. The laptop cannot play and sound files nor can I use headphones

Sounds like you need to buy a new power cord/charger.

Downloading fresh drivers from toshiba.com will fix that problem when installed correctly.

try installing the driver for the camera

It is probably a driver issue. First check the device manager, from the Control Panel. A red triangle with an X or a yellow triangle with an exclamation point indicate that the issue is with the driver.

Go to device manager. To do it, Right click "my computer" select properties. If you have Vista, click on device manager. but if you have XP, after rightlicking on properties, click on the hardware tab so you can click on device manager.

Look for Sound and video games controller. Right click on the audio driver then uninstall. If you are with vista, DO NOT put a check on delete the drivers. Just uninstall it.

After uninstalling, On device manager, click on action then scan for hardware changes. It will install back the drivers automatically. Then test again your audio. It should be good.
