I have the same problem. any solutions to this?

  • Anonymous Feb 22, 2009

the same case either. i havent contacted philips yet but i still wished we could help it out without getting to em. several times ago, the same problem occured once, and i help when i first make power on then without trying to let the player read it pressed the "tuner" button on the rc, afterwards i touched the eject button and it worked well. but this time the dvd really stuck in there. although it was a computer made non-copyrighted disc, it's not one of a kind so i really don't understand why this "stuck" problem occured, unreasonable

You'll need a security screwdriver to undo the silly screws that keep the chassis cover on. (Not a phillips screwdriver, ironically!) You've unplugged it from the mains, of course.
Use the same screwdriver to unscrew and remove the DVD disk unit. (The tray has a decorative blac strip clipped to it which you'll need to remove in order to comletely get the unit and tray out opf the chassis.
Now carefully prize off the top unit and look for the little motor and drive belt that operates the disk tray opening ghears. You'll probably find this has broken. I think when I replaced mine it was a 25mm drive belt with a square cross-section that I needed. It cost me about 50p on ebay to get the right one and fix the tray.
Hope this helps

I had same problem with my Philips Dvd3460h, the only way i could get disk out was to take the top off the unit, and on the front left hand side (on the actual disk draw) there is a white disk, i gently lifted that white disk and kept it raised while pressing open/close button again, to eject disk and draw opened allowing me to take the out...

This has happened a few times now, the odd disk wont play or eject and each time have had to do the same thing to get the disk out..

hope this helps

My dvd player is stuck on one dvd and wont let me eject, change disc, or even stop the current dvd. display reads "locked" whenever i press any buttons. can only turn on and off the device.

Hi, For some reason the disk will not play. You push the eject button over and over again, but the disk slot will not open. Here's one solution...
* 1 Turn off the DVD player. Wait a few minutes, turn the DVD player back on, and
then press the "eject" button. If this does not work, turn it off and unplug
the DVD player...while you keep pushing EJECT button plug the DVD and turn it on (your hand still on the eject..) is should come out..
* 2 ..if it does not eject , unplug the DVD player again, Remove the screws off DVD on the sides and take off the DVD casing.
* 3 Look for the DVD holder inside the DVD player. This device holds the DVD in
place while the DVD player reads the disk.
* 4 Push the stuck DVD disk toward the front of the DVD player until the DVD
ejects. Remember the DVD player is not on and some force ( gentle ! ) must be applied.
* 5 While it is open, plug it on and place a DVD disc just to see if mechanism works properly..
* 6 Replace the casing and the screws. Plug the player in and turn it on. Put
another DVD in to test whether the player is finally working ..
Hope this helps!..

Philips DVD recorder, (250gb) DVDR3460H. can not remove disk .........

your gonna have to open the machine up the there is a whits tab that lifts the disc up to spin you will have to use your fingers to slde it of that make sure its unplugged and then the white thing will realese
tip

DVD player in my home theater system won't eject the disk inside.

When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:

Unplug power cord.
Plug back power.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject.
If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be disassembled to remove the disk.

DVD stuck in my Panasonic DMR-E30

Hi Rock.

I had the same problem like this on my machine. The best way to fix it is to turn the machine off completely and hold on the eject button then turn the power on. You want the first thing the player does is to eject the disk without trying to read it first.

I hope it works let me know if it doesn't and i'll try and recreate the problem on my player and see what i can do to get the disk out.

The last resort is to manually take the disk out but lets cross that bridge if my suggestion above doesn't work.

Thanks

smeags.

CD STUCK IN CD PLAYER

The case needs unscrewing to reveal more of the internals. Go carefully and peer inside wherever you can to fiddle the CD back into place or out of the box. It's in there somewhere, removing panels will get there.

DVD RW stucked - stall the whole system.

Hi, I found this site today cos I had a similar problem. To cut a long story short I found a slot on the bottom of the machine, below the disc tray, that has a white lever in it. After removing the power source I moved the lever to the side and the tray opened manually so I could remove the disc. It seems It was a duff DVDR as other discs now work fine. Good luck !
