Question about Woods Upright Freezer MU07W

1 Answer

We bought a Woods all fridge and upright freezer pair

We bought a woods all fridge and upright freezer stainless steel pair 1 1/2 years ago, it's still under warranty for full replacement or repair. The fridge quit cooling , repair man said it was a throw away. Appliance store wants to replace it but since Woods is out of business so our set will be mismatched if we have to accept another brand. Model # is R1816RS3 . Can we find parts ( the store isnt making an effort ) should we even bother? If we could have both pieces replaced that would be great but they are not going for that option. Can U Help ??? T

I believe it is the evaporator , where the gas circulates through the fins ? Lost the cooling completely. I just can't believe in this day and age that you have to throw out an entire virtually new fridge because of some parts.

    Ottawa Ontario Canada -
But since the fridge is still under full warranty we could have the store order the parts from where ever. It would still seem to be cheaper than the $1300 we paid for the fridge!

Do you know what parts are needed? Some are available and some are not.

Can you confirm the model number and get me the serial number from the tag inside the unit please:?

I believe I have located the part you need, the part number for the evaporator is 4390782.

What part of the country/world do you live in? I see a parts distributor in Chicago that has 14 of them.

Frost build up especially on top shelf all other shelves except one gets a 3 inch layer of ice in approx 4 months. The freezer is kept in a mod temp basement room and the freezer door is opened less than...

Things you can do to cut down on frost.
1.make sure all seals fit flush to frame.
2.use a thermometer and set freezer to -18c(beef will keep upto 12months).
3.wrap all food as airtight as poss.
3.do not overfill, leave space for air flow through drawers/shelves.
4.defrost every 2/3 months in humid conditions using clorine bleach to clean interior, and dry thoroughly.(leave door open to dissipate clorine gas.)

I have a upright frostfree Woods freezer. It is only around 4-5 years old and this year it is making very loud running noises. It is not keeping things fully frozen.

Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack
