I'm going to try and explain this. I have an Onkyo 6 change cd player and it started to show "Er"; just out of the blue...It seems. The whole tray slider wouldn't even slide open (to take cds in/out). I took it apart and saw nothing unusual. I blue on things and nothing. After a week of it sitting on the floor, and thinking it needed to be taken in. I took another look at it. I removed the moved middle screw on the tray and tried to take out the cd holder (the part that spins for the player to find/play the "next" cd. As I was lifting and spinning the tray around, it slipped and popped back down, AND the whole slider opened. Short end to the story, The cd holder tray seemed to be stuck. I pushed the open/close button and watched the display to see if "Er" would show up. It didn't. I put the screw back in... plugged it all together and the cd player is fine.

Cd XL-HP535E Showing ER-CD01 not playing How to fix this please

ER CD01 means that the system is unable to read the disc.
If this is happening with all discs then the reading lens may need cleaned.

Jensen Personal CD Player Model CD-60 won't play cds. It starts and then shows "ER " message. I've put in fresh batteries - no change. Appreciate your help, thanks so much!

Hi,
Have you try a Cleaning Disk. Maybe you can use a compress air can (usually sell in pc/electronics stores) and clening up the laser lens. Check for dirty on discs, water drops or scratches. Try another CD
Hope this help.

Put a CD in and get message that says ER (Error?)...every CD that goes in spins, but does not play.

could be one of 2 things
use a cd lens cleaner to clean the laser lens .
or could be warped or damaged cds and player wont play them
also if they are burnt cd the player may be to old to read them.

Reads all but DVD-Help PLEASE

When you say it won?t read are you trying to play commercial DVD movies or read DVD data disks? If you're trying to play movies then you need a couple of things the first being some type of player program. Real player works as does Windows media player but usually DVD drives come with a striped down version of PowerDVD or WinDVD. If you in fact have a player installed and when a DVD is inserted in your drive it doesn't play it may not be configured to automatically play DVDs. Try opening your player program and trying to manually play your DVD. Let us know if you have any success or if you need more assisted. If you do let us know what player program and operating system you have and any error messages that may appear.

CD Player will not play all CD-R discs only ones it chooses. But if the CD is bought from a store it will play it.....if it is burned it usually will not.....even if the cd was just brned and plays on...

It might be an older system that can't read computer-made discs, or it could be a disc incapability. Most old players can't read CD-R discs, even if they can play normal/original CDs. You can try another media but i wont think it will help. Sorry.
