Trying to upgrade firmware on my 2950... after a few seconds 'status firmware damage;' appears. Have tried both .all and .rst firmware. Have tried hard resetting the device, all efforts fail.
I've run across this and found that a update would install but not work, then at that point the restore to default would. The unit worked fine for 2 years after but would never allow itself to upgrade after that. Of course the proper 'paid' solution was to send it in or replace.
I dont know if the cmos is actually at fault or the images are being corrupted. Tech support seemed to be reading off of a script and were pretty useless then, (Maybe they have improved). About the only useful advice I can give is based on my experience with this. If you can get it to work it may be stable but if it is a critical router I'd replace it. Not a fix but just some experiences with it.
