Hi:
You most likely have a heat problem, as you have realized. To fix the problem, your heatsink/fan assembly needs cleaned, and then reinstalled with new heat sink compound. Some disassembly is required, so this isn't an easy job. If you go to a reputable shop, and tell them what you want them to do, rather than just tell them your laptop is shutting down, you should get it done for a fair price!

My cursor keeps moving to the left making typing almost immposible sometimes it works fine ??!

Either the "left-arrow" or the "backspace" keys on your keyboard is getting stuck in the "down" position.

Take the computer to a qualified technician, and get the keyboard replaced.

I have a presario R3000 notebook. just like to ask if the fan for ventilation underneath is working in a certain temperature. or it will automatimatically running when i plug in.. can some one help me....

There are several models of this notebook depending on the processor. Some only have one fan, otehrshave two. When operating the fan should start running. I have the higher spec R3000 and my fans start soon after the machine is turned on and sometimes throttle down if I have no activity. Upon starting to use it, they soon start again. Considerable hot air will come out the right back and side.

DO NOT block the air intake(s) on the bottom of the unit !!! You can burn up the processor.

Broken fan on compaq

don't keep running it until you replace the fan. Look for one on ebay or around the web. It is shutting down because of heat. A $20 fan could cost you your whole laptop if you keep running it.

M2000 heat causing trouble?

Are the fans clear from dust and debris? this is a major factor, if it keeps freezing you may have partially burnt out the processor or other component.
