Put mp3 music on an at&t tilt

I got my daughter a tilt phone and we can't figure out how to get her mp3 music on the mini disk card. AT&T told us the only way you can get mp3 files on the mini disk is to purchase the songs from them. That is ludicrus I wouldn't have bought that phone if I had known that. I have blackberry and my son has a sony ericson and we can put mp3 files on our mini disk no problem. there has got to be away for her to do this. If I was to get a mini disk reader that connects to my PC via USB and use that to copy the mp3 files that way. Will the phone recognize them then?

So on your Mini SD you need to make a folder named MUSIC. Then you just put ur music into it. After that place the card back into the phone. Next on the phone go into the start menu and into the Tools menu. On there press file explorer. From here you can view all files on the phone. From there go onto storage card and in there select music. That will show all the music files. To import the music into the WMP library go into Windows Media Player from your programs list. Once in WMP press men and then press update library. This process could take any where from 30 mins. to an hour. once that is done you got it working

Thats ********* ; u dont need to buy their music ;
you have hundreds of options on how to do this

1) you can load the sync software on your PC or laptop and copy the music files into your my music folder and then u can move it to your storage card by the move to option in the file explorer
2)you can take out ur storage card from your phone ; put it into your laptop and copy files onto it and then load it normally back
msg back if these two options dont work with you

1) this phone comes with a USB cable, so you can connect it to you computer. But your need Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 to be installed on your computer before you can connect. You can download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/eulas/eula_activesync45_1033.mspx?ProductID=76

after download install it. after it is installed,, connect your phone with the USB cable provided with the phone. MS ActvieSync will deduct your phone and opens a window immediately to confugure...

check this link on how to setup your phone with Active Sync
http://www.zolved.com/synapse/view_content/31239/Configuring_ATT_8525_with_ActiveSync

Skip the steps and dont select anything in steps 3, 4, 5 and 6... finish the wizard, your will see the Active Sync Windows as shown in Step 8. click on Explore...
you will see a window with the folders in your mobile device, click on "My Windows Mobile-Based Device" and then click on "Storage Card", create a folder with any name here and copy all your music to this folder. Copying music to Storage Card is preferred, so it wont eat up your device memory. Now disconnect your device from USB cable open windows media player in your phone and search for all music files...

So from next time whenever you want to copy music to your phone, connect to USB cable and copy it to ur storage card. thats all

2) you can also use the USB card reader, if you have.. that will save your head-ache with installing and dealing with MS Activesync. This solution also works.. and your will be able to Play your music..

Dont listen to AT&T guys.. they want you to pull money as much from your pocket.

feel free to post if you still face problem with ur phone

I put music on my tilt in the same way I put music on my mp3 player. Personally, all of my music is on windows media player on my laptop. It was only a matter of using active sync to connect my tilt to the computer. From there, I opened up windows media player which had detected my tilt like any other device. From there, it was a simple matter of syncing music over as if it were an mp3 player. This may not be so simple for other people, depending on how you store your music. I'm assuming I had no compatibility problems seeing as both my computer and the tilt use windows media player to access the music.

I can't play music from my mini-sd card on my LG VX9900. Thanks

The LG Env can only support music within the MUSIC folder on the Mini SD card, put all the MP3's in the Music folder.

Also it only supports wmv's and MP3's if my memory serves correctly.

How to download music

The best way is with an SD/Mini sd memory card. Your phone can accept a 2gig card max. Get a SD reader or a base reader, to USB adaptor, get the SD/mini SD card w/adapter and just copy files from your computer to the mini card and insert that into the phone. Most cells do not allow downloads in the same way as computers do. Yes you can download themes and ring tones but not files like MP3's. Here are pictures of the tools needed to put music on your phone. his is the mini SD with adpt. mcneb_3.jpg here is the reader, mcneb_4.jpgHope this Fixya up.Please leave a testimonial if it does. Thank you for using Fixya.

Using wmp to sync to mini sd card for a moto ve240 mp3 player

the device has to format the card. at this time the phone will create folders for music, videos, images, and what not. now when you insert the card into your computer you will open the card and copy the files to the music folder. this will allow access to the files from the handset visual platform.
Good Luck and please rate this solution!! :D

Transfer music from Mini Disk back to Computer

Unfortunately, there is no way to transfer music from a sony mini-disc player to a computer other than playing it through your sound card and recording it. Sony specifically disabled this ability to dissuade consumers from transferring music from one person to another, and this is one of the reasons that Mini Disc Players did not take off.
