Fujitsu 5032D WILL NOT BOOT FROM EXTERNAL CD ROM

I recently got a Tablet and it will not recognize the external cd rom I have. I thought all external cd rom's were generic in design. Does Fujitsu require a special cd rom? The Tablet works fine so I know it is ok! Cmos is set up properly and the boot order is CD Rom first then H.D. The other weird thing is when you press F12 to enter the boot menu it goes straight to "No Operating System Found". I appreciate the help. Phil

bios password can only b reset by removing the c-mos battery...Try to goto boot in last known good configuration option in safemode....if it doesn't boot den install a new os..

to change a Cd drive in a laptop you need to have a pro do it for you because you could break your laptop

I removed harddrive from tablet pc and copied neccesary files onto drive via USB to IDE adapter. Then re-installed harddrive into tablet pc and now it works.

When you boot your computer, start up your BIOS, then under the boot menu, make sure USB is listed as the 1st option.

To log into your BIOS, press the "Boot Option" key. It might be F1, F2 or Delete

try other known good windows installer. if it boot, then the problem is in xp installer, if it not. try other external cd-rom drive. also be sure the disc rom drive are dvd rom drive because a cd rom drive cannot read dvd disc but a dvd rom drive can read cd rom disc installer

Before the computer boots press Del key constantly then the Bios screen appears in that change the first boot device priority to CD Rom then exit the Bios by saving the changes. This should help you in recognizing your OS disk...

Fujitsu Lifebook P1120 Won't Boot To CD\DVD
Fujitsu seems to have secretly added a Hardware black list for Booting USB DVD-rw.CD-rw drives.

I have a Stylistic ST5032D slate.

Your either going to have to buy fujitsu's over priced external drive or buy fujitsu's over priced dock.

Or What I do is Bought WinImage or any other software that allows writing a ISO image to USB flash drive, this should almost always work.

I had to install Windows 7 on my tablet this way.

Choose your poison.

Fujitsu lap top cant find cd rom so i cant load softwear
Go check your BIOS to make sure the cd rom drive is recognized by the system first, as if it is not, you will not be able to use it.
If the cd drive is removable, try removing it and reinstalling it first.
If the drive is recognized press the F12 key to get into the boot selection and choose CD Boot.

when the pc in post usually on dells bios there is a boot menu option it is usually f12
if you don't know what your doing in the bios it is not a good place to test your skills after pressing F12 just choose cd rom for boot

Install the drivers from CD etc, reboot.. insert PCMCIA card and it should show up in device manager and my computer, as another "Drive" Ya should be good to go.
