The motherboard chipset is an Intel 865PE chipset.
Intel 82865PE northbridge chip, and an Intel ICH5 southbridge chip.

This motherboard takes Socket 478 Intel Celeron or Intel Pentium 4 Processors (CPUs).

Since they were very popular at the time of their initial release, there should be lots of these CPUs available all over the world.

A pin Processor has metal pins on the bottom of it.

For an example let's use an Intel Pentium 4 processor, that fit in a Socket 478 processor socket.

Viewing the link above, observe the green square under the grayish metallic looking square.
The green square is a circuit board.
(Width and length, about the length of your first digit on your thumb)

The grayish metallic square, is a metal shell cover over a Chipset.
Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.

The Integrated Circuit here is the Processor.
The Processor is connected to the green circuit board. (PCB. Printed Circuit Board)

On the bottom of the green circuit board are contact pins. In this case 478 of them. (478 pins)

The tiny metal contact pins fit down into matching socket holes, in the processor socket.

Try downloading and installing the drivers, right side of page.

Note: After each installation please restart your machine to take its effect.

check your power-save settings they could be turning the computer off. it could also be a bad chipset that is getting shorted or a bad fan that is causing the pc to overheat and turn off. hope this helps.

Please download a memory (RAM) testing program for free. Click the link. http://www.memtest.org/
This program will allow you to make either a bootable floppy disk or a bootable CD. Before you can use the above program I will need the correct model No# for the Gateway, found on a sticker somewhere in the PC case along with the serial number.
The information regarding you're board is incorrect. You can find the boards model number written in white lettering somewhere on the board or on the side of a PCI slot.
