Facebook recovery my daughter's friend was severely assaulted over this past weekend, and the assailant had left threatening messages on his facebook wall, for a few days prior to and including the next morning. nobody printed it off to give police. now he has changed his facebook, is there any to retrieve what he had on there?? Chat logs and messages are all now treated like messages.
If your ex friend hasn't accepted your new friend request, you can still see the message history. Also there is a high chance that the messages are in the "other" category (listed next to "inbox", in your messages page).
If he/she has blocked you, you can still see the message history but not the sender.

First, you should definitely inspect your privacy settings:
Try this:

When set, only friends of your friends can send you requests.

If it doesn't help, you can just start over again, but:
a) Use a different name
b) Use different profile information
c) Maximize the privacy settings

You should be able to:

Click on their Profile
At the top right of the screen, next to the MESSAGE tab is a little wheel with a drop down Menu
Click on the wheel and choose Report/Block
You can now choose to Unfriend them and Block them
Additionally, you can report the profile by clicking "My friend is harassing or bullying me"

In addition, if you have details of this person, you can go to the police. Not knowing where you are, I can't give you advice on how your legal system works in your country. In the UK you can report the harrassment and the police will visit the person and initiata a harrassment order against the person. Depending on the severity of what has happened, they have a power of arrest in the UK, even for a single message and a single incident, where they feel that arrest is appropriate. As I say, No idea what country you are in or how your laws of harrassment work, but regardless, I would advise you to talk to the police.

You can always copy and paste the wording they are writing even if you read it off of a web page. Copy and paste the messages into a word program or even Notepad. Also I would change my account and delete the old and make a brand new account then pick up from there. Add friends from your email sources they will be more than glad to come to the new Facebook site you make.
Start fresh and be rid of this rude and frankly misuse of Facebook this is the only way really to restore move on to another account. I hope this assisted you and I do apologize for all of us who are in communications throughout the Internet who do not threaten people especially their wellbeing. Nothing is worth this. John

De-activating is pointless(they have your email...), call 650-543-4800 (US NUMBER) to talk to someone and explain... thats facebooks support number
