My newly installed yahoo messenger 10..would suddenly stop workin

you are using old version of yahoo messenger..
you need to uninstall the version from add and remove program and install latest version 10
you can download the latest version from http://messenger.yahoo.com

Your downloaded file of Yahoo Messenger 10 could have a virus on it which tells the computer something in the port you are using is not connected. Try a different usb port on your computer, Or your webcam could've just died. My webcam died after 1 week of use.(Labtec webcam) I would suggest trying different ports, Un-installing and re-installing, or purchase of a new webcam

Try a portable version of Yahoo messenger, or there are a few other solutions.
You could try to use Trillian.( www.oldversions.com you can get it from here) or you can acces www.meebo.com . You can connect on several types of IM.

Just un-install the program first , then re-install it again, i am using Vista Ultimate and Yahoo messenger 10, and it works fine

after removing try lower ver of yahoo messanger

I had this problem till yesterday. The culprit was some ad script in the messenger ads has stopped working because it was not compatible with my flashplayer. As a result I got the message that messenger has stopped working. Download and install the latest version of flashplayer to resolve this issue. This issue has been fixed in messenger 9.

you can have as many IM's as you like installed, although i would only use 1 at a time, try doing a java update and reinstalling live messenger, then do a microsoft update
