I have a nikon coolpix s630, only had it for 2 months when it broke. Comes up with lens error, and now it doesnt focus and everything is blurry, it also makes a ticking sound as if it is trying to focus. bought it overseas so am unable to send it in under warranty. certainly wont be buying a nikon again!

What you are describing is probably the beginning of a possible lens error. If the camera still operates correctly (the lens extends correctly, you can still take photos that are correctly focused) then there may be sand or dirt in the lens mechanism that will eventually cause a failure. Just as an initial step, get a can of compressed air and blow out the space between the lens barrel and the camera body. If the clicking noises continue and the lens movement is not smooth, it is time to contact Nikon support at the link below
Hi! It sounds like the lens focus is stuck. If you don't have experience in camera repairs, you should give it for a repair to your local Nikon service center or other camera service center.

It doesn't say lens error? but it won't focus? it is probably the same as the other people who do have lens error displayed on the screen, the lens is broken is what the repair company told me about my s200 when i told me lens error
I have the same problem with my nikon coolpix s200. After 2 months the lens of my camera won't go inside. On the lcd screen stood lens error. I went to a shop with this problem. He took the battery out of my camera and press the off and on button for a while. Then he put the battery back in the camera and press the on button. The lens of the camera was now going inside en outside and inside and outside with a strange noise. And also on the screen stood lens error. Okey, the lens is inside the camera. i had the same problem with lens is blurry and lens error message comes up. My solution might sound sillys but it works. tapping on the side of the camera, put some force to it.(with hands only).
