here is a bing related search that should walk you through the proper process of facorty resetiings you acer aspire 5517
and remember just because your model # is specific does not mean the same factory reset technique is not amongst all the other models as well when troubleshooting.
if you fail in your attempt i suggest you contact acer technical sipport so then can walk you though the process.
here is also a link to their support page.
go into start menu.click all programs then go to acer chrystal eye webcam. i just found mine on the acer apire 5517 so im assuming all the acers with webcams have pretty much the same folder.
Webcam is available in selected models of 5517 aspire series. You will have to look into the model no. and check it with Acer site otherwise post it on fixya.
The models without camera also have the space in upper bazel which looks like camera.
Hello,
Looks like they have two types of cameras for that model just go to www.acer.com and go to the product support section select your type of computer (notebook) then aspire then aspire 5517 then you need to select your operating system the camera software is in the application tab there is 2 available so you will have to know which camera you have should be either chicony or suyin.
Get the drivers installed from the link below.
