I have an HP PSC 1610 All-in- One Printer Scanner Copier . The problem is that I cannot "scan to" as I keep getting an error message on the scanner that reads: NO SCAN OPTIONS. You need to install or run device software for feature.Press OK to continue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the windows software for the printer and it is still not working. What do I need to do to fix this. It did work before because I used the scan to previously.

Yes, the scanner program is telling you the next step and that is to uninstall the software and the device and to reinstall it by using the installation CD.

open the scanner in preview and select all the picture you want to scan by stretching the frame around the picture then scan.

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP 1610) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

printer cartridge error HP PSC 1610 All-in-one I buy recycled cartridges from a local group. When first installed, they print fine for about 5 small print jobs. When trying a new print job, I get the error message, "check color print cartridge." Or something of the sort. New cartridges work a short time and do same thing. So apparently either the amount of ink being inserted is very small, or the cartridges partially dried out, or my printer will not "allow" non HP cartridges. Which do you thin? and how to solve the issue if it is the latter.
