Have a Xerox M20i Copier/Scanner/Fax. Display indicates "Scanner Locked" Cannot make copies nor fax out. Please help

If you look under the scan assembly you will see a yellow or green tab which locks the scan head. Try locking and unlocking it a few times then on the final unlock reboot your printer.

I have an intellifax 4100. I can send out faxes but I can't receive any. It's not giving me any sign that someone is sending me a fax.

Hello.

Typically, the problem is caused by a faulty phone line (even though you can make calls and send FAXes). Contact your telephone/telecom provider for their assistance.
Hope this helps.

Where do you plug in the telephone jack

To connect the machine for use as a fax machine, plug the cord into the left side of your machine, lower phone jack labeled LINE and the other end into the wall phone jack. To connect a telephone to your machine, plug into top jack on the left side of machine labeled EXT. Reference page 2-12 of this link to your Xerox WorkCentre M20i User Guide.

Hi. I have a Xerox M20i. The fax machine will ring, but then immediately hangs up. I have reset the memory and the DIMM chips as suggested by Xerox. The phone line works as the machine can fax out. Help...

Is your phone line in the " line" jack and not the ext jack?
If the line is digital it will do that.
If the phone line voltage is low, the line current low that will also cause the problem.
In your fax settings. Is ECM turned ON.
Is Junk Fax OFF.
Secure Fax OFF.
Delay Fax OFF.
If your phone line is weak, it will cause that problem.

Can receive a fax, but cannot send fax.

I was told by Xerox support tech that he thought it was the fact that we do not have a dedicated analog phone line, but the fact remains we can receive faxes but cannot send them. The only fax that will send is directly to Xerox support.???. The machine was working fine, faxing (sending and receiving), until about a week or so ago, when we had a repairman here on the printer. He told me to report the problem to our telephone repair service. He is coming out today! I'll let you know.

FAX ERROR MESSAGE

It sounds like the fuser rollers are not at the proper temperature to work.

They should be inspected by a technician.
