Sounds like a power supply failure.

My television does not start up

Hi.

If there is no power at all, no led on, and no sign of life whatsoever, that means that the problem is either the power cord, or the internal power supply board.

In that case test the TV using a different power outlet (eventually use an extension). If the power cord is fused, like in UK for example, then check and replace the fuse in the power cord.

If instead the TV stays in stand-by, with the LED light on, but does not respond to remote, or to the buttons on the chassis, then the TV is in protect (safe) mode because an internal fault had been detected.

In that case the TV is probably faulty.
Follow the troubleshooting on this article: Why my TV does not start up and remains in...

If that does not work, contact the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual to get the TV repaired by a licensed technician.

Regards.

52 inch Samsung Flat Screen TV

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.

My Telefunken 42" Full HD

The problem might be on your power supply.

1. Check the power supply it is located on where the plug is connected on the main board.
2. Use a multimeter it must be on AC function, to check the AC supply
sometimes the problem is just on the plug
3. Then if there is an AC supply on your plug then check the power supply
4. Check for busted fuse (usually has no reading on multimeter on diode test)
replace same type of fuse.
5. If the fuse are good check for open resistor or shorted transistors.
always replace same rating of resistor and transistors (same on number and type)
IF the problem still exist just contact me.

Hope this may help you..

LCD no picture, no sound

If you HAVE ANY light on the screen whatsoever then you have a bad main signal board. This is the board with all the connections on it. If you have no light at all and no indicator light then you have a bad power supply and possibly a blown fuse. Find the power supply by tracing where the AC plug is connected. This goes directly to the power supply and fuse. Do a search on Ebay or Google or shopjimmy.com for the parts availibility and prices.

Change the power cord before giving up on it. If changing the power cord doesn't work then, yes its probably something wrong with the monitor and being over 9 years old is OLD. New monitors are dirt cheap right now.

Hello,
There is a software update that is available for some Mitsubishi dlp models. The wd-65c9 is one of them. When I experienced your problem, I went to the website, downloaded the update, and installed it on my tv and boom, its fixed. It's super easy, free, and takes a few minutes.

Try changing the fuse. It's located below the power cord. A friend gave me the set I now have because they had stopped working. Turned out the fuse had blown.

Canon Pixma MP980 printer - cannot turn on after blackout

1 Please check if the power cord is OK. Check the plug as some of the plugs have a safety fuse installed.
2 If the power cord is OK then you have to take it to a service center where they will change the safety fuse installed within the machine.
