Question about Sony VAIO VGN-N130G/W Notebook

1 Answer

Touch Pad and mouse buttons

After accidently re arranging my icons on the task bar (windows 7) the touch pad and both mouse buttons stopped working. I pressed the power button (presumably putting it on stand bye) then pressed it again. This time the touch pad worked bt only the right mouse button worked, the left still didnt. I restarted the laptop and the touch pad and mouse buttons didnt worked AGAIN. I put it on standbye and the same happened, the touch pad started working and only the right mouse button. Now only the touchpad and right mouse button work. Help please? ;p

SOURCE: touch pad not woring

Oh, I think a driver issue did it. Did you download a new driver? Maybe the maker had some bugs. Use Windows System Restore to reset the settings to a couple of days back, when it was working. It won't harm any of your personal files, though it seems scary and is time consuming. Or, you can try to do a Driver Roll-Back. Go to Device Manager (right-click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware Tab -> Device Manager Button) and look for your mouse. Click Roll-Back Driver under some tab. It may work.

Or, just report to the company about the driver and search for the previous drivers.

SOURCE: The left button of Mousepad(one on laptop, but not

I had the same problem . The micro switch needs to be replaced . All push button micro switches have a certain amount of "clicks" before they loose ability to make a good contact . Your left click switch has exceeded its life and can no longer make a clean contact without more pressure . Eventually the spring in the switch will fail thus stick permanantly. You will have to take it to an authorized Sony Service center or maybe an office machine service department might have the replacment . I fixed my own with an old mouse microswitch .

Hcl me laptop, touchpad too sensitive, how to control?

There is an adjustment for this sensitivity go to control panel and look up the mouse if there is not icon on the tray to do any options. What your looking for in short is options in the option tick sensitivity there you can adjust it for your comfort. Locate this and your on your way. If you cannot find any touch pad information go to your manufactures web site and download the driver or software for your touch pad. It should drop to the task bar as an icon below. Or if you have the show all icons turned off turn it on it may be in there. The best way to do that is right click in the tray where the icons are and select show all icons or if you see the mouse pad icon there open it and tick options.
That is what I would do Win 7 may have loaded it but the actual configuration files may not have been downloaded, you may also wish to check out the Windows Updates and tick on all the updates you have missed you may find the software there for the mouse pad updates.
That is all I can offer maybe someone else has a better answer here. John

Have an Acer aspire 7720-6712 laptop; pad doesn't work. downloaded drivers, still doesn't work. task bar has icon saying pad is ok

if your pad is not working even after the driver is installed then it might me a physical problem. Better get it checked with some hardware technician.

if the service cost seems high or costly better by a optical mouse and use it. it would be comfortable rather using a touch pad.

When get to my home screen my cursor wont move when I move my finger on the mouse pad.

I'm assuming that you are using a laptop. If so, then look around for a button that locks out your touch pad from being recognized. Some laptops have the Touch pad "On\Off" button just above the touch pad. Other laptops will require you to do a key-combination to turn the touch pad On or Off. To do this typically requires you to press the FN or Function key while pressing one of the keys between F1 - F12. There should be a symbol\icon of a different color on whichever key it is that will give you an idea of what that key's function is. Every laptop is setup and arrange slightly different.

Acer aspire 5517 touch pad not working.

Also on this laptop you can hit Fn+F6 to enable or disable the touchpad as well there should be a touchpad disable button to the right of the power button that can be very easy to accidentally press.

Can't disable touch pad

Windows hides rarely used icons. If your does, then the task bar shows a left pointing arrow < . Click it and look for the icone for touchpad.

If you cant find that icon,
1. Start
2. Contol Panel
3. Right click the Mouse icon.
4. Under the Touchpad ON/OFF thumbnail, put a check mark in the disable option.
5. Use the same procedure to enable touchpad

Touch pad not working not sure if correct driver is instslled or a mechanical issue.

I'm assuming this is a laptop and not a desktop, since I've never seen a touch pad on a desktop....but unless you've had some work done to it in the past...i.e. new keyboard/hdd/memory where it could have been disconnected from the logic board, your touch pad has gone bad, and will need to be replaced...or you can pick up a much cheaper mouse and use with the unit.
