Hi, My M Audio Firewire Solo has been working for 2 years straight, no problems. Recently I downloaded Pro Tools, and realized that Pro Tools wasn't able to find my hardware device (firewire solo). So I went to my control panel and clicked on Audio, and to my suprise my M Audio Solo wasn't listed in audio play back. I then deleted the driver, followed the steps of unplugging, replugging and installing the drivers and it is no longer working. Not to mention I have no sound at all! Please get back to me with any help, thank you.

Sounds like the device is not set as the default.

Step 1. Right click on the Speaker icon in your taskbar (lower right of your Windows Desktop)

Step 2. Click Properties and then find Playback devices and make sure that your device is selected.

( iam operating off of Windows 7 so my steps may be off a bit)

Hi i have digi design rack 002 with pro tools le

Try the other port on the 002. If that doesnt work, I recommend trying the 002 on a computer that does have 400 to see if it will connect then.

If it doesnt, then you may have a couple blown firewire chips inside your 002. It happens, and can be fixed.

Macbook pro does not detect digi 002 rack

yeah i have an intel imac and had the same problem. I upgraded to pt le 7.4 and now pro tools recognizes the 002 rack and it works fine, but still the core audio manager does not recognize the hardware. It says in "use" when I first turn on the 002 rack, then it says not connected after about 20 seconds. I don't think this really matters though because I have beeen able to do everything fine without having the core audio managr recognizing the 002 rack. I hope that helps

M-audio firewire solo

I just bought the Firewire Solo and had the same issue with my MacBook. I have OSX 10.5.6. The drivers that came on the CD were for earlier OSX version. If you go to M-Audio's website (www.m-audio.com) and then click on Support. Go to to drivers & updates, search by the criteria they give you for your specific system and then download. Although they don't currently have an updated version for 10.5.6, I downloaded 10.5.5 and it seems to be working, although I'm running into an audio input problem when hooking up mic and guitar....no sound. I'm thinking I'll just have to wait until M-Audio comes out for an updated version for 10.5.6. Hope this helps.
