it (Hp officejet 4315v series FAX) must be set to default that's why it would not print.The default printer should be the Hp officejet 4315v series,the one without the word fax in the end.
Here's how you do it:
for windows XP operating system
click on the start button on your computer.
click on printers and faxes.If it is not on the start-up list you can click on control panel ,click on printers and faxes or printers and other hardware.
in printers and faxes,it will display all the printers installed on your computer
look for officejet 4315v series or officejet 4300v series then right-click on it's printer icon then left- click on set as default.
try printing from the computer.
for windows vista operating system
click on the start button on the computer
in the search box,type in printers,hit enter key on the keyboard.
in printers,it will display all the printers installed on your computer
look for officejet 4315v series or officejet 4300v series then right-click on it's printer icon then left- click on set as default.
Send any test page as fax on the 1-888-473-2963 and wait till it is send. Once the fax is sent, you will receive a fax as notification ( confirmation ) of the fax being received by HP.
This above no. sometimes is busy so you may need to give couple of tries till you succeed.
Or the best way is to send fax to any of your friend who owns a fax machine and ask them to send fax back to you.
Please perform the steps given below and check if yuo are able to fax
1. Open a MS Word Document.
2. Click File -> Send to -> Recipient using a fax modem.
3. Follow the instructions given in the fax wizard. Ensure that you select the HP all-in-one as the fax program.
Now check whether you are able to send the fax.
