You can get anything in PCIe If your a mild to moderate gamer or just looking for a replacement I recommend using EVGA brand. I have had very good luck with the nvidia 9800 gts. They are older cards but still have quite a bit of potential. if your a heavy gamer use something nvidia GTX 260 or later they have the newer GPUs.

Question is the card you have for sure AGP or PCIe? I think of any computer designed for gaming and AGP is not what comes to mind lol but, If it's AGP look into this for the best result I know of "http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as... "

I have 5 strips of redish lines on my screen. Do I need a new graphics card? My computer is a Dell xps.

This could be but I suspect that you monitor is needing service.
1. To isolate connect a known good LCD to the pc graphics card ( the ATI RADEON)
If the lines are not visible then yes a new video card is needed.
2. check the video cable to see if you have it well connected to the video port.
this sometime will render intermittent screen and vertical color lines.
3. check video cable for bent pins.
I hope this helps. Have great day!

I knocked off a capacitor on my 9800 radeon card- Does ATi have a non warranty repair facility- or for that matter does anyone .Seems simple to replace but who knows.....

no problem bro just replace it with a new one but make sure you take the same capacitor back (ex 100uf)the will be a nuber to it an the most dangerous part is soldering it back in which i highly Redmond you do it from a professional becuz improper soldering may damage you board (overheating can cause damage to capacitor it self)
good luck i have changed capacitors even in motherboards also it works like a baby so dnt worry

please rate solution......

Video ram error 2ATI/1/4:113-A14404-118 in Apple hardware test Power Mac G5 DP 2,5 ATI Radeon 9800 XT

This one is pretty clear. Your machine is a June, 2004 model. Your video RAM is bad. Video RAM is not user-replaceable on the Radeon 9800 XT, so you will have to replace the Radeon card itself.

ATI Radeon x1600 Pro unstable in Dell XPS desktop

If you have the latest drivers installed, try uninstalling them, and going back to the 2nd most recent driver released. Sometimes the latest drivers have issues. Work your way back trying multiple drivers if possible until you find the sweet spot. You might try this website, it has a driver cleaner that removes old drivers. Then try reinstalling the driver of your choice.

ATI Radeon 9800 XT 256mb Hi, ive just bought me this card, and i have two screens on it . I dont need a fast video card but just need it to edit music. i have a powermac G5 from june 2004. Sometimes when...

An inadequate power supply might be your problem. Check the requirements on the video card and then look inside your case to see how many watts your power supply is putting out. If it is less than the number required by the card then this is likely your issue.

If you meet or exceed the amount necessary then it might be an issue with your drivers. Maybe sure you visit the ATI website for the most up to date and current drivers. Oftentimes many video card issues are solved by a simple driver update.
