Frigidaire gallery side by side won't send water to ice maker tray, but will to water dispenser

Hello Jim czyryca - From what you are describing if the ice maker is not making ice but is dispensing water, sounds like the refrigerator has a frozen water line, faulty ice maker valve or bad component that sends power to the ice maker valve when needed. The ice maker cycles internally to call for water so I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately to assist with the repairs.

Sub zero particles in ice from ice maker

This issue occurs if your Ice Maker is not clean or have dust particals inside, follow the below steps in order to clean it properly:

Step 1 Lift the power bar located above the ice maker storage tray.
  • Step 2 Unplug the refrigerator.
  • Step 3 Allow the refrigerator and freezer to defrost. This will melt any large blocks of ice that have accumulated in the ice maker.
    Clean the Ice Machine
  • Step 1 Remove the ice machine storage tray.
  • Step 2 Dump any water in the ice machine storage tray.
  • Step 3 Wash the ice machine storage tray using warm, soapy water. Rinse and allow to dry completely.
  • Step 4 Sanitize the lines of the ice maker. Consult your manufacturer's directions for steps to do this, because it's not available on all models.
    Reassemble the Ice Maker
  • Step 1 Replace the ice machine storage tray.
  • Step 2 Plug the refrigerator into the outlet to restore power.
  • Step 3 Lower the internal power bar located just above the ice machine storage tray. This allows the ice machine to make new ice.

Side by side ice maker tray has water stains

Use Lime Away. It helped with mine as the white spots were due to lime in the water. Be careful not to get the lime away on your marble, stainless steel sink, etc. as it will cause discoloration. I found out the hard way. Good luck.

    Water Doesn't get in

Once you get the ice maker solid block cleaned out, you need to re-prime it by pouring in fresh water using a cup to just below the blades. It will not kick out ice and refill until the temperature sensor senses the frozen ice. With no water in the tray, it can't sense. It must dump to trigger the refill.
