Where is the pump/filter located on my Kenmore Front Loader Washe

On some Kenmore washers the F21 indicates "Slow Drain". You could have dirt in the filter attached to the drain pump. There should be a screw on cap that is removed to clean the filter. The pump is behind the lower front cover. It is also possible that the pump went bad.

F02 is "Long Drain".

Essentially this means that the water is taking too long to empty. Almost certainly a blocked empty pump filter (I think the filter is behind a little door on the bottom right on this machine).

Locate the filter, clean and replace. All will be well

The pump is located behind front bottom panel on the right side assuming that your machine is a Whirlpool or Kenmore Front-Loader. Disconnect power and remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly. Click on the link below for further troubleshooting should the cleaning of the filter does not resolve the problem.

They can be pulled between inner/outer drum..Check clean filter

since front loader wont spin till its empty
id be willing to b et you have a clog in the pump
get a few towels
and spread em out in front of the machine
take off the fron toe kick 3 T-20 screws on front lip bottom
you should see the trap cleanout dead center
turn the handle 1/2 tun and pull straigt out...
be advised the washer will dump
you now have the sump in your hand ensure it and the pump inside are clean
reassemble and test
use 1 tablespoon of soap no more
suds will mess this machine up

This is a job you shd do, not pay for each time, your dealer is taking you for a ride (or wash). The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. Lift washer to place wooden blocks to reach screws. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

It may be that the drain pump is not the problem at all. Error Code F-28 on the Kenmore HE2 means that there is a signal error between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU)

First if you have a wet vac pull the drain hose out of the drain spout and use the vac to pull the water out of the washer through the drain hose.If not you will need a pair of radiator hose clamps from the auto parts store. Pull the screws from the lower panel at the front of the washer and remove it.in side you will see a rubber hose coming down from the tub to the drain pump. Put the radiator hose clamp there if you didn't have a shop vac.On the front of the pump is a round part with a handle turn that and remove the pump filter .Clean any foreign objects out of the pump and look inside the pump to make sure no impeller blades are broken if any are you will have to replace the pump. put the filter back in and tighten it. If you had to use the hose clamp remove it now.reassemble and don't forget to give the tech his four boxes if this fixes it
