I would first check the little plastic switch for the battery door being closed. Try pushing that in and turning it on with the battery in. Using a fully charged battery helps also. If these don't work you may have a blown fuse or component on the PCB.
Hi , try to remove memory remove battery from partment clean contacts and assemble again .

I used my camera on Sunday. When I went to use it again on Monday, my camera would not turn on. I charged my battery just incase this was the issue. When I put the charged battery back in the camera, it still wouldn't turn on. Help.
Same as the others. One day taking pictures fine. The next it won't turn on. Charged the battery. No change. Just appears dead.

I have had my camera for 18 months, and it just didn't turn on one day. I tried cleaning the battery compartment, charged the battery, etc., but nothing worked. I emailed customer support at Cannon, and they said "sorry." I'm so not a Canon fan.
