Hello,

From the menu of your phone, go to your contact and press, scroll down to settings in the contact and press, scroll down to contact view and press, you will see varieties of option there, select the one you want, maybe it should display name and number while calling or just name alone.

Any option you select, press it and it will b save. you can now call, the option you select is what it display while calling or receiving call.

Take care.

    Hello,

Fine, it means all your contact are saved on the sim memory and not on the phone, that is why it is not bringing any name out.

What you will do now is, go to your contact, press to open, scroll down to settings and press, now scroll to memory in use and press.

Select the option phone and sim, but if your phone does not have both, select phone memory.

All your contact will be saved to phone memory, and you can now see names of outgoing and incoming calls.

    Take care.

I have tried to get my yahoo account connected to work with outlook to no avail

Do you pay for your yahoo mail? If you use the free version, you can't do it.

If you have Yahoo Mail Plus (19.95/yr) then go to the mail options.

  1. Go to Tools and Account Settings - below the E-mail tab click New
  2. Choose E-mail Service. Click on the Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP radio button
  3. Click the manually configure server settings or additional server types check box. This will automatically enter in all of the required fields
  4. Click next
  5. Click on the Internet E-mail bubble. Click next
  6. Enter the following information:

Your Name: Display Name you want to use, for example, Jo Bloggs
Email address: Full email address, for example, [email protected]
Incoming Server: Contact your ISP or Hosting Company for this setting. (See note below if your mail provider is Yahoo!)
Outgoing Mail server: Contact your ISP or Hosting Company for this setting. (See note below if your mail provider is Yahoo!)
User name: The first portion of your email address, for example, jo.bloggs@domain.com
    Password: Your email account password

Note: If your mail provider is either yahoo.com, rocketmail.com, or ymail.com then the incoming and outgoing settings are as follows:
  • Incoming Mail Server pop.mail.yahoo.com
  • Outgoing Mail Server smtp.mail.yahoo.com
If your mail server requires SMTP Authentication, follow these steps. If you are not sure if your mail server requires SMTP Authentication, please contact your hosting company or ISP:
  1. Click on More Settings
  2. Navigate to the Outgoing Server tab
  3. Check My Outgoing Server requires SMTP Authentication
  4. Click OK
  5. Click on Next
  6. Click on Finish

Trying to set up outlook on yahoo at&t

One issue you may have is outgoing mail. Some ISPs insist that all outgoing mail goes through there servers, to protect against imposed spam fines... Sometimes you have to send through another port, gmail does that....Then ISPs usually let that go...Much better setting for mobile user...

Below is what you need to do:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/mailplus/pop/pop-36.html

Here's how:
  1. Go to Tools and Account Settings - below the E-mail tab click New

I am not able to send or receive any mail on my yahoo account.

How do you access your Yahoo mail? Is it via the browser (www.yahoo.com) or via MS Outlook?

If you're having a problem of sending/receiving emails while using the web browser, you may want to delete old and unnecessary emails. You could have reached the storage limit of your email account.

But if your using an Outlook, you need to double-check the account settings. Make sure that you have the correct user name, password, incoming and outgoing servers, incoming and outgoing ports.

If you setup your email account using the POP protocol, you may use these server ports:

Incoming: 110 or 995
Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)

For IMAP:

Incoming: 143 or 993
Outgoing: 25 or 2525, or 587, or 465 (SSL)

If the same problem occur, you may try to delete your account and recreate it. Please bear in mind that if you deleted your account and recreated it, some emails may no longer appear or get downloaded.

Thank you and good luck!

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

How to set up your hotmail account on samsung jet. i am on o2. it keeps telling me that i need an incoming server type (POP3 or IMAP4) an incoming server & outgoing server(SMTP) i assume that these are...

I have the following (and complete) list of settings on my Jet for my hotmail account and it is receiving and sending emails correctly. (After seeing 6 posts and none with a full solution, something needs to be done .. RAGE!!)
Account name - "random name" SMTP sever - smtp.live.com SMTP port - 25 Secure Connection - TLS Incoming Server Type - POP3 POP3 Server - pop3.live.com POP3 port - 995 APOP login - unchecked Secure connection - SSL Download limit - 50 IMAP4 incoming email - New (faded out tho) Retrieving option - Subject only Keep on server - checked My address - [email protected] User name - [email protected] Password - **my hotmail acc password** POP before SMTP - unchecked SMTP auth. - checked Same as POP3/IMAP4 - unchecked User name - [email protected] Password - **my hotmail acc password**
Some tech info to help problem solve. POP3 is the technology involved with receiving email, SMTP is involved with sending. (Lots of people saying they could receive but not send, but their SMTP settings weren't correct)

Send or receive messages

Did you configure your HTC using a POP3 or IMAP account? If you do, you need to make sure that the following are correct:

1. Incoming Mail Server - pop.domain.com (i.e. pop.gmail.com)
2. Incoming Port - 110 or 993
3. Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.domain.com (i.e. smtp.gmail.com)
4. Outgoing Port - 25 or 2525 or 587 or 465

You need to contact your e-mail provider to see the correct settings and port number to use for the incoming and outgoing mail server.

You have to make sure to put your complete e-mail address in the user name field.

Have a great day!
