Plasma flicker I have a LG 42 inch Plasma with a LG set top box. When trying to watch HD free to air channels in Australia I am getting a flickering reception. How do I fix this? There only appears to be a automatic program set up so fine tuning doesn't appear to be an option

G'day mate,
A good HD antenna and proper orientation should do a lot of help. In the USA, a website guide HDTV owners to properly identity a suitable antenna and orientation. Check out:
http://antennaweb.org/
A similar website may be available in Australia.
If not, what you would want to do is to point the HD antenna to your source of Free To Air (FTA) broadcast.
Cheers!

Flickering can be adjusted. Type in the keyword "Flickering"; in the search box, at the top of the display window, to get gathered related posts.

The screen on my 4 yr old 42 inch LG plasma keeps

I believe that you are experiencing an intermittent problem with what's called your florescent lamp ballast. The best thing is that it can be repaired/fix. There should be a LG repair shop in your area. Cheaper to bring it in than have a service tech come to your residence.
Should be between $200 to $300 for a repair.

Green hue on all inputs

Most likely there is a failure in the video processing. The flickering was from the failing components breaking down.

Your set can be serviced by an experienced tech who has spare boards and the facilities to service your set.

Lg plasma

there are 2 types of flicker, one is the lamps that drive the display and the second is the sync signal of the video.
I assume the video sync is the flicker you see,
I would try connecting a different way to make sure it is not the tv,
connect using the aux /rca connectors to cable box.
and or connect using the cable direct bypassing the cable box.
I have seen several complaints about the hdmi cable signal being incorrect in some way,
this is the same issue that the svideo connector had in its early adoption signal was too hot or too low.
another thing to watch out for is the low light sensor on the front of tv if it gets an incorrect reading it can flicker the back light though it should be slow in doing so.
some times the flicker you see is not flicker but ac running through the sides of the picture from an ungrounded cable source.
how does it perform if you play a dvd player , with and without the cable box connected.
