Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp.Have a bless one!

My samsung 72" dlp would turn off and on. The remote could not turn it off so i had to unplug it. The image would last a few seconds then turn off then on. This would happen repeatedly until the red and green lights would start blinking then no image. The solution that helped me was I replaced the power board, ballast and lamp. Make sure the ballast you get is the same exact one as in your tv (I used a replacement one at first and it produced a flickering color image, but the TV was on and didn't turn off). If one of these components was not replaced it would continue with the same problem. The lamp was only a year old it worked fine, but for some unknown reason all three had to be replaced. My tv is working fine now. This isn't cheap, all three cost me almost $400 including shipping. My TV is 1.5 years old.

Samsung DLP has gone darker

The 60 K hours is bogus---Average life on a OEM lamp is 2,000 hours or two years average---if you got four or more years you were lucky.

42 inch Samsung DLP TV shuts off by itself. I can turn it back on and sometimes it stays on and other times shuts off within seconds. Some days it stays on all day without a problem. Other days it shuts...

I bypassed the safety switch (it was bad) and vacuumed and blew out all of the dust. So far with this set, 3 years old, I have replaced the bulb twice,it exploded both times, and the color wheel which also exploded! We love the picture but the next time it goes out, it goes out to the trash and I will purchase a top of the line LED/LCD set. No moving parts!!! Samsung designed and manufactured a whole bunch of lemon sets and will not admit it. I have found several hundred complaints about their DLP sets and only a few on other brands.

DLP HL-R5067W

Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms you describe.

Samsung HL-S5679W

i GOT TIRED OF FIGHTING IT, AND JUST LEAVE IT ON ALL THE TIME, SINCE MINE WILL TURN OFF CONTINUOUSLY FOR THE FIRST 3 HOURS OF TRYING TO TURN IT ON, SO BY THE TIME IT IS ABLE TO STAY ON FOR THE DURATION, YOU DON'T NEED IT ANYMORE, SO JUST LEAVING IT ALWAYS ON, IT IS READY WHEN I WANT IT. WHAT A PAIN.
