Oftentimes it helps to use scissors to trim back a portion of the new line. Start at the bottom and cut upwards at an angle. Put some lubricant (WD40, perhaps) on the line and slide the sharp point into the fuel tank. Using needle nose pliers, grab the line and pull it through. This will only work if you have the correct size line. If the new line you are using is too large, you probably can't pull it through.
I had the same problem. The replacement lines were slightly larger than the originals. I'm sure someone will have a problem with my resolution, but.... I measured the new lines with a dial caliper, got a drill bit 1/64 smaller and redrilled the holes in the tank. A little compressed air to clean the inside of the fuel tank and I was back in business.
