Loss of network connection when computer is at rest

When our computer has been at rest for like 15 min. we return to find the internet connection has been lost. A constant problem that started about a week ago. We can disconnect the router for about 10 sec and then hook up again and the connection will be there. Very frustrating.

This can be due to the location of the router.
1. If the router is next to a cordless phone this can cause interference to the incoming data signal and cause what is call collision or EMF (electromagnetic flux) which is electromagnetic.
2. Move the router at 25 feet away from any digital devices.

Internet suddenly stopped working

The battery saver app may turn off the network connection on the tablet once it detects a period of network inactivity in order to save battery power. When that happens, re-establish the network connection on your tablet.

Hi,
There maybe several explanations for the freeze ups,but I think the major one lies with your internet services connections.Whats the speed of the connection? How's the networks availability?Try this and see what happens:-
  • Uninstall and reinstall the browser[firefox]
  • Set firefox as the default browser. If still freezes;-
  • Choose another network for the internet connections.
Hope this helps.Thanks!

My computer will not fully connect to my belkin play wireless router, it only showslocal only, how can i resolve this

ok if your computer showing local connection only then its something thats preventing you from accessing internet.. There is 2 possibilities First: Your Antivirus and Second: Your Firewall

1. disable your antivirus and firewall for 15-20 mins
2. right click on your connection and choose repair connection
3. if it still does not work i guess you on windows vista try this :

1. Click on start/ control panel
2. Open Network and Sharing Center
3. On the Left choose Manage wireless Connections
4. Right Click on your router and choose Delete Connection or Network. close the page
5. You will find on the Task bar on the right: Your two computers are not connected anymore
6. Right click on the 2 computer and choose connect to a network, it will show you your Router, choose the router and click connect.. if there a password insert the password and click continue or connect.. when it will be connected it will pop up a menu to save what kind of network it is you choose the first one " HOME ".. Thats it.. Happy surfing

My facebook takes about 15 to 20 mins to load

This is most likely less of a Facebook problem and more of a Personal Computer problem. Check the amount of ram you have on your computer. Stop running any unnecessary programs and make sure you are running the most up to date versions of your internet browser.

Internet connection/network adapter problem

If you are using the Windows own Wireless connection wizard (Wireless Zero Configuration service aka WZCSVC) this is designed to recheck every 20-30 mins for another connection this is your problem disable the service here download this tweak.

http://rapidshare.com/files/260751524/Disable.WZCSVC.reg

Then download and use the laptop NIC's own software to search for your Uni server and then connect using the WEP or PSK, this will solve your problem then create a profile in the NIC connection software and it will never forget.

Got wireless signal but no internet connection

You can try to power cycle your entire network (refresh).
This often happens when you have a large network.
  1. power down ALL Computers and disconnect the desktop from the D-Link Switch.
  2. turn off all SLAVE AP's first.
  3. Turn off the Master AP and disconnect one end of the Ethernet.
  4. Turn off the D-Link Switch and disconnect one end of the Ethernet.
  5. Now, turn off your modem.
Leave them for about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your urgency.
Turn on and connect all devices in the EXACT order.
  1. Turn on the modem. wait 2 minutes.
  2. Turn on the D-Link Switch and wait 1 minute. Then connect the Ethernet to the MODEM.
  3. Turn on the Master AP and wait 1 minute. Then connect the Ethernet to the D-Link Switch.
  4. Turn ONE of the Slave AP's. Turn on your Laptop. try to connect to the Internet. If successful, Disconnect from the network on the computer and proceed to turn on the rest of the Slave AP's, Laptops, and Desktop. If its NOT successful, power on the Desktop and try to connect to the internet.
  • If the desktop connects to the Internet, Check your D-Link's homepage "192.168.1.1" (default) for any wrong settings. If it does not connect, check your DSL Modem's settings.
If the above does not work, post what you did the day before this happened. Probably something small might have messed with the network.
