Yes, your cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp back-lit lcd tv/monitor is no different than any other brand in it's basic design/operation than any other brand. Yes, plasma types are a little different, but not much. If problem gets worse and happens more frequently, the units internal "switch-mode-power-supply / ccfl inverter supply" would be first place I would investigate for a "thermally intermittant" (cold, frosty looking) solder joint on a active or passive electronic component where it is soldered to the printed circuit board. Nadine, your unit not much different than large screen computer monitor w/speakers, Just has a TV tuner circuit added to it and has remote control!!!!
