My pioneer dv-120k wont play australian or us cd's. Only home burnt copies of movies.

dvd players because of copyright info can only be set to one region code and can only play dvds from that region. Some players are set at factory some allow user to reset region usually a limited no. of times.
home burnrd dvds usually don't carry that info therefore no issue. So you need to reset player for appropriate region

Iview 2600hd dvd player has error "this player is incompatible with the region marking of this disc"

DVDs are coded for different areas of the world. If you bought the DVD from an online source it may not play on your format of DVD player.

Portable dvd player when you put disc in machine it comes up with wrong disc display on screen is it the settings

It would more likely be the types of discs used. They are either of a region code not compatible with the player, contain foreign/unknown data, or they are unsupported formats. For example, if the player supports DVD-R playback, and you put a DVD-RW in, the player will generate 'wrong disc' message if the player cannot recognise the disc or the contents on it.

The disc formats/types that can be played should be outlined either on the unit itself or in the instruction manual (if you still have it). If the player shows that message even with genuine shop-bought DVDs then there is a defect within the unit, workshop attention may be required to fix it, but it could be costly.

'WRONG DISC' usually means the disc inserted is of a different region code to the player, or the wrong format (DVD-RW instead of DVD-R as exampled above). Try using different discs before going any further.

LG DP450 portable dvd player will not play dvds. No disk appears on the screen & these are new original disks which work in other devices.

This solution worked for me! My portable player would no longer turn the dvd, "no disc error". I bought a disc cleaner at a local office supply and manually turned it with my hand about 10 times. It works now!!

Dvd player doesnt play the movies

Try another DVD. If problem persists and it does not work with any type of DVD, whether recordeable burnt DVDs or original pressed DVDs then your unit is bad - either dirty lens or the laser diode is bad.
