Hello,
I have a Raymarine E120 with a DSM 300 connected to an Airmar B258 thru-hull transducer. The system worked fine for the first 2-3 years in boat, but in the last year or so I have been experiencing the following problems;
Sometimes lose depth reading, screen freezes and "DSM connection lost" is displayed on screen along with an audible alarm. (This occurs at all speeds & depths).
Sometimes unplugging & replugging cables @ the DSM restores connection but not always.
Occasionally the screen will freeze without any alarm or messages displayed.
I don’t think voltage or current to the unit is an issue & I have replaced the cable between the DSM & the SeaTalk hs Network Switch & installed the most recent software.
Thanks,
Murray
Murray,
Has the DSM and the E120 software been upgraded to the latest software: 4.12 for the DSM and 5.52 for the E120?
Try this first. You can download the software off Raymarine.com and burn each to a separate compact flash card.
I have seen many problems like you are experiencing solved with this simple change.
If this doesn't solve the problem, the DSM will have to go back to Raymarine for repair.
