This effect is known as "pin cushion". There is an adjustment for it on the front of your monitor. Follow your monitor guide for instructions on accessing the correct buttons to make the adjustments.

Poor picture quality. Picture also tends to curve

The curving is caused by bad digital convergencr chips (2) located on large signal board. They need replaced along with blown pico fuses and the convergence resistors. Chips are huge compared to a regular IC. 2" x 1.5" and they will be bolted on fairly large heatsinks. Cloudy picture is most likely the coolant needs replaced in the picture tubes. This needs to be done approximately every 5 years.

make sure you do not have anything sitting on the top of this tv. I have seen this on my tv by just gently putting pressure with my finger on top the screen starts to curve up at the edges.

SONY PROJECTION TV MODEL # KP-51WS510.

If the entire screen is curved, and it is not taking the whole screen, then you have a vertical deflection problem.

If the colors are double and do not match, with lines of different colors around pictures , then you have a convergence problem, often caused by a faulty convergence board.

The curving effect can be a side effect of bad convergence, or you may have both problems at once.

Unless you are a TV repairer yourself, better calling technical support. Usually you can ring the number listed on the owner manual.

Do you by chance have any speakers sitting on top of the tv or right beside it. Speakers are unshielded and will cause this effect.

Yes if you could give me a model #, it is probably a diode shorted in pincushion area, or a capacitor.
