Hello,

When I recoat my outside wooden seating I use Danish Oil and if the colour has faded I add a small amount of stain of a suitable colour. You could try it with the linseed oil but the Danish oil dries to a hard coating and will build up if several coats are used, allow time to dry between coats.

Would you have a paint which is used on workshop floors? Usually grey in colour. Some also speak of an epoxy paint?

Rudolf I don't sell paint. My shop is my shop not and open to public. Now I would use epoxy. Do not mix more than you can apply in the open time. the time is listed on the can.. Wear gloves, old clothes. I use a brush to cut edges and then a roller on a good quality pole
( not the wood or plastic sold at home centers). The floor will need to be clean and all grease , oil or any thing staining floor. If you can get help in will speed up the job. One to cut edges and to start start rolling. . You can go online and read the directions and what others have experienced. Good luck

Oil based porch & floor paint What is best primer to cover and block any stains on pine soft wood floors?

I advise to check https://prizedreviews.com/best-deck-stain/ where are a full description of different deck stains. Personally, I advise taking a look at Penofin Ultra which brings a versatile, clear-coat offering to the mix with the Penetrating Oil Finish.

How do I put a shine on old wood floors

The simplest way to put a shine on old wood floor is refinishing. The advantage of hardwood flooring is this. Few years after installation you can refinish the floor and then you will get a band new look. Well, while doing hardwood floor refinishing apply water-based coat and get wet look floor.

What to use to shine my hard wood floor

It depends on what sort of finish you want or need, what sort of area and whether it is to be maintained by hand or machine.

The timber must be very smooth and level for a gloss finish or every blemish will stand out whenever the light reflects off the surface.

Floor wax is high maintenance. It can be polished to a decent semi-gloss finish if the floor is sanded to a high standard but it is hard work to achieve and although wax protects the wood it does rather show marks too readily.
Wax is not for worriers.

Semi-gloss or nearly matt is the most practical finish for most people most of the time. Oil is the best preservative for the timber and it will produce a well-defined grain colour but later needs further protection.
There are many propriety finishes available and the hardest wearing is those based on polyurethane.

One of the schools I attended years ago had parquet floors throughout. They had been sanded smooth and sealed and then a mixture of sawdust and wax was swept back and forth several times periodically.
Once or twice each week a polishing machine with soft revolving brushes was pushed back and forth a few times.

My red oak 3/8 hardwood swole when the summer started and all the floor was in hills. IN winter it shrinked and even has gaps now. How to prevent such floor from swelling and shrinking?

wood changes and moves due to weather conditions, the best way to protect it is to add wood oil. you may need to sand it first for it to work better, You can find natural oils or even add color to it, you'll find it in your local home depot, walmart, etc.
