Whirpool duet dryer quit working

Hi. My dryer is a whirlpool duet. I have had it since December 2005. The lights on the panel work, but the drum does not turn and motor does not run. The sensor lights go from sensing to wet to all the way through the cycle, and the timer counts down..and the buzzer goes off saying it is done, but the drum does not turn and I do not notice any heat. What would cause this? I did notice that the drum seems awfully easy to turn compared to normal....
I did try unplugging the power to reset it and this made no difference. Thank you for any advise you might have.

The machine quit in mid-cycle. The light panel works, but the drum does not spin, and when I turn it by hand it is very difficult.

Why do the Automatic cycles on my Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer not always work?

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

Whirpool Duet Washer Model GHW9150PW1 Control Locked

I had the same exact problem, the answer is in the User's Manual for this model Dryer, also here: The Users Manual reads: "TO UNLOCK": Press and hold the END OF CYCLE button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off. I did this and it worked perfectly the first time! My first load is drying now after months of being without the dryer (too busy to investigate!). Good luck.
