I have a kenmore smartwash quietpak 9 HE 5T front loading washing machine for about 2 years. Today I did a load and the water will not drain from the washer so I had to pull the clothes out and wring the excess water before putting in the dryer. This has happened for 2 consecutive loads. I did notice near the end of the first load that the word SUD appeared near the end of the cycle. I am hoping you can tell me a solution to my problem. Thanks!!!! From what you're describing it sounds like the cold water line is blocked or restricted or the inlet electro valve is defective.. Most rinse cycles are cold fills. Another possibility is the drain hose is air tight or too low creating a siphon condition

This due to the drain pump either being clogged or having a broken pump rotor. You can access the pump to check this by removing the bottom front panel by removing the 3 screws under the panel. You will need some towels bacause you will have A LOT of water come rushing out when you unscrew the drain pump cleanout. If this cleanout is clogged, remove the obstruction and test the washer, if there is no clogg you will need a new drain pump, this part can be ordered at, http://www.reliableparts.com/ by using your model number to lacate the pump. It is very easy to replace, just be sure to disconnect the power to the washer first =)

This code is tricky to troubleshoot, so jsrock516 advises to eliminate the easy common sense items first.

Dont know the code but i would imagine it means the water has not emptied in the max time preprogrammed,either the drain is slow or blocked or drain pump is faulty

F32 is the pressure switch issue. Just press and hold the power switch for 5 seconds to reset this error.

Probably something caught in pump. Remove lower panel if this one has it and you will see the pump. Loosen the round cover in middle to access clean-out.

F20 ERROR CODE ON A KENMORE HE2T FRONT LOAD WASHER.THE FIX FOR ME WAS TO REPLACE THE TUBE THAT RUNS FROM THE PRESSURE SWITCH TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHER.YOU MUST REMOVE THE TOP AND BACK COVERS OF THE MACHINE(EASY).REPLACED TUBE WITH3/16 INCH CLEAR TUBE.THE ORINGINAL TUBE HAD A PIN HOLE FROM RUBBING AGINST THE SIDE OF THE MACHINE AFTER 5 YEARS OF USE.THIS COST UNDER $10 DOLLARS TO FIX. NO SERVICE GUY=MORE BEER MONEY GOOD LUCK.
