My TomTom speaks a foreign language that I do not understand, how can I change it to English (USA.)? Tried to myself with no success. Thanks JF

So you've got that brand new shiny TomTom, turned it on, and .... OOPS! ... somehow you've selected the wrong language. Suddenly the entire interface is (literally) in some foreign language and you can't figure out how to get back to English. This has happened to quite a few people recently, so here is a short tutorial on how to get back to US English.TomTom Main MenuIf the device is currently turned on and you are anywhere but the primary map/driving view, it might be helpful to turn the device off. Then you can turn it back on to get yourself to the map/driving view. Now click anywhere on the map to take you to the Main Menu. Depending on the language you picked and your device, it should look something like the image on the right. Click on the wrench icon (highlighted in red here) which will take you to the 'Change Preferences' menu.TomTom Change LanguageNow that you are in the Change Preferences menu, keep tapping on the right arrow button to cycle through the menu until you see an icon with three flags on it. Tap the screen go into change preferences keep tapping the blue arrow until you get to the last page its 8 of 8 , there you will see change language , Tap to open then select the language you want

Start your tt. On the map screen tap the screen. Then tap the wrench (bottom far reight next to the forward arrow). Tap the forward arrow until you come to a icon of flags. Tap the flag icon then you can set your language.

from the main menu choose CHANGE PREFENCES, then press the arrow triangle (3 times), you will find the change language icon on this screen

How do I change language back english?

I do not have this particular model, but I am sure the fix is the same.

Go into the setup (press the screen when a map is showing)
Press the Blue Wrench (this is "change preferences")
Use the right arrow tro scroll to the screen with the flags icon. You can change your language there. As you can see, there is a lips icon which changes the voice; that is why you can have the voice and text in different languages.

You find Change Language from the Preferences menu from the main menu. You may need to switch on Show All Menu Options in order to see it. Again, this is from the Preferences menu.
