IF the instructions advise against using bleach in that machine then it is probably because the bleach will affect certain parts / rubbers of the machine and will lead to costly repairs if used.. Try a bleach free soil remover like nappy-san or vanish pink in conjunction with a liquid detergent rather than a powder detergent
you must remove bottom panel ,,in the center front you will find pump,,remove pump filter,,always unplug first..it has slugg,..than after you clean filter run your unit once a month with a pint of bleach and hot water only..also wipe your rubber gasket or bellows with a touch of bleach..
Hi, I have a top loading Kenmore Elite washer (don't know model #) from
the year 2002. It has the automatic bleach dispenser. The problem is
that if someone has washed clothes with bleach sometime during the day
and someone else comes along and washes dark clothes, the clothes get
ruined with dot bleach stains. It appears that the bleach remains in
the washer. Any tips or do I need to buy a new washer? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you V.C.My problem is similar to that which VCasabona
is having. Not just dots occur but often big splotches. It may not even
be just a colored load following whites on the same day but, on
occasion, it occurs on the next laundry day, a week later with the
first load that is not the whites with bleach. Also, my wife adds the
bleach to the filled washer (old school, I guess), rather than pouring
into the dispenser. My water pressure, which is not at issue, is not
what I need to address to remedy the situation. I have noted that the
ledge that is part of the floating tub had some build-up of deposits,
some of which may have been bleach. These I've reached in with damp
cloths and removed as best I can. I've run full, empty loads through
hoping this would flush out any lingering bleach. Because the occurrences run intermittently
from infrequently to frequently I cannot be sure if any of my attempts
to remedy the problem are having any effect. I've guessed at the model
# of the Kenmore top load washer we own since Dec of 1999
Sounds like some water is remaining in the tub after the pump gets done emptying the washer. So its the pump! The Kenmore Elite is a good washer and I believe worth fixing! Unless the cost is half the price of the cost of a replacement.

SOME BLEACH DISPENSERS USE COLD WATER TO FLUSH THE BLEACH FROM THE CUP. CHECK THE COLD WATER FOR GOOD PRESSURE. IF THERE ISN'T GOOD PRESSURE, REMOVE THE COLD WATER HOSE FROM THE MACHINE AND CHECK THE SCREEN INSIDE THE VALVE WHERE YOU REMOVED THE HOSE. PUT THE END OF THE HOSE IN THE TUB AND TURN IT ON. CHECK FOR GOOD PRESSURE. CLEAN THE SCREEN AND RECHECK THE WATER PRESSURE AFTER REINSTALLING THE HOSE AND TURNING ON THE WATER. IF YOU STIL HAVE POOR PRESSURE REPLACE THE VALVE.
Getting around the way the boards are pre-programmed is not something they write into the manuals or even make programable. If you want to soak with more bleach, open the dispenser drawer after the unit has filled and add a bleach/ water miture to the soap area of the dispenser. This will let it run into the machine and will get you more bleach in there.
I have this same problem today and did not need to take off the top panel or remove the front panel/housing. The bleach and frabric softener dispenser snaps right out and you can check the tubing and clamp from there. You will need to remove the top panel if you need to replace the tubing. In my case, there is a crack in the dispenser itself which has ruined several loads of laundry over the past year...now I realize it wasn't the clamp and hose, but the dispenser itself. Check them all while you are at it.
