I have a samsung HL-S5087W it will turn off by itself I have replaced the lamp and it continues to do this I have tryed to go to the service menue mute 182 power, I see a menue but go on options but cant see a lamp reset in option, maybe theres somthing I'm missing???

I went through the same exact thing. I had to replace the DMD board. No problem after that.

if picture dim it is most likely the lamp and resetting the lamp timer will not help that.

Lamp # 1 is lamp fan, Lamp # 2 is DMD board fan.
Lamp # 1 is located behind the lamp.
Pull assy angine out you will fine fan # 2 , clean it or replace it if not rotate properly.
Fans displayed on screen because fans are dirty or air flow not smoothly.

your bulb has reached the end of its life (at least this is what your tv thinks) you need to replace the bulb and or make the think you did. (there is a reset in the service menu for the bulb)

if the colors look good and its just dim its the lamp. usually the lamp will show signs of being bad by looking at the base of the shaft in the middle if its discolored or warped the lamp is bad

The power board ic converter is dead.
U can tries to go to the web buy the part and replace it yourself.Or hire the repair man part and labor $575
