The Digilux 2 will work with any SD card, but bear in mind that SD cards max out at 2GB. Larger cards are actually SDHC cards and will not work in the Digilux 2.

First make sure that any pics on the cards are safely downloaded to your computer. To get the cards to work in the Leica, you must format them in the camera. This will erase them and set them for the operating system of the camera.
Odd this has been here five months w/o a response. Apparently you describe a "burned out CCD", the famous "sensor problem", which is frequently mentioned whenever the Digilux 2 is being discussed. It's too bad because I think otherwise it is a wonderful camera. Contact Leica in whatever country you live and see what the current policy is re: repair, and whether the company will stand behind their product. There appears to have been positive response. To start , u can get Digiluc 2 Guide here : http://www.overgaard.dk/pdf/Digilux_Field_Guide.pdf Install Media picture database software (u can use iPhoto for mac) or get Microsoft® Expression® for PC (works on mac) after that, you can set up the camera , for indoor set the lens to f/2 (not automatic). go shot a lot now :)
Does the menu in the camera work?
You may need to activate some Postview function in the menu. If the camera takes pictures, you should be able to view them in playback mode. There could also be a Preview mode, which requires pressing OK before storing pictures. Preview/Postview should cancel each other though...
Okay, I have found the solution (along with Megant, it appears.) It is definitely a dead sensor issue. I contacted Leica via email ([email protected]) and received a response from JoAnn Scott, a Leica customer service manager ([email protected]) stating that the sensor issue is a common one and is covered under an extended warranty. I shipped my Digilux 2 to this address:

and within 2 weeks received a repair ticket from Leica, identifying the issue and indicating a zero balance for the repair. A follow up with JoAnn revealed that the turnaround time on the repair would be 4 to 6 weeks. The most expensive part of this whole deal was the 18 dollars I spent insuring the camera when I sent it back via the USPS.
